On the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, MDKG College proudly observed the flag hoisting ceremony at 7:30 AM, which was led by our esteemed Principal, Dr Anup Jyoti Bharali alongside the Vice Principals of the Science and Arts Blocks, Purnima Chutia and Aniruddha Dutta, respectively. This momentous occasion was attended by the IQAC Coordinator Dr Ashwini Machey,faculty members of various departments, Library and Administrative staff, students, NSS volunteers, and NCC cadets, who came together to commemorate the spirit of independence.Ms Anwesha Saikia,Asstt. Professor, Department of Economics performed a patriotic song to give the event a melodious touch. The persons who spoke on the occasion highlighted different aspects of the country and significance of the day. The program was anchored by Mr Dipankar Sarmah, Assistant professor and HoD,Sociology.
The function was followed by a cleanliness drive carried out by our NSS Volunteers who demonstrated exceptional social responsibility and awareness by engaging themselves in such a noble initiative. This initiative is expected to instill a sense of patriotism and community spirit, encouraging students to contribute toward a cleaner, greener campus environment. The NSS volunteers were led by Ms.Monikha Konwar, NSS Program Officer of the college unit.
