MDKG College offers the following programmes:

Six Semester Undergraduate Programmes

MDKG College offers Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) programmes as per prescribed curriculum of Dibrugarh University. The structure of the courses of the programmes are as follows:

A. Compulsory Courses
B. Major Courses
C. Non-Major Courses
D. Skill-based Courses

COMPONENTS OF B.A. PROGRAMME

A.  Compulsory courses

The students  shall be required to take the following compulsory courses -
(a)     General English
(b)     Modern Indian Language (M.I.L.) : Assamese/ Bengali/ Hindi
          OR
          Alternative English (In lieu of M.I.L.)
(c)     Environmental Studies  (In 4th Semester for both General programme)
(d)    Multi Disciplinary Course (In 4th Semester for both Major & General Programme)
(e)     Skill based ( One mandatory for General programme in Semester 5th & 6th Sem)

B.   Major courses
(i)    Assamese
(ii)  Economics
(iii) Education
(iv) English
(v) Geography
(vi) History
(vii) Mathematics
(viii) Philosophy
(ix) Political Science
(x) Sociology
(xi) Sanskrit
(xii) Home science
A  student  opting  major will have qualifying examination conducted by the respective departments of the College before attending Major Classes, as when conducted.

C.  Non-major courses
A  student opting for  Non- major (General) course  shall have any two subjects from the following subjects to be termed as Core- I and Core -II.
(i) Advanced Assamese/ Advanced Bengali/ Sanskrit.
(ii) Economics
(iii) Education
(iv) Geography
(v) History
(vi) Home Science
(vii) Mathematics
(viii) Philosophy
(ix) Political Science
(x) Sociology

A  students may choose courses from the following list. Students doing a Major Course shall be required to select  any one of the subject of list A.

D. Skill-based courses
(i) Communication skill ( 3rd Semester)
(ii) Travel and Tourism Management (5th & 6th semesters)
(iii) Entrepreneurship Development (5th & 6th semesters)
(iv) Creative writing (5th & 6th semesters)
(v) Teaching in Elementary Level (5th & 6th semesters)

PROGRAMME OUTCOME OF Bachelor of Arts

A student, on completion of her B.A. degree, will be competent in the following areas:
Knowledge:
1. Introduction to different concepts, theories, practices and models of learning
2. Assessment and understanding of theoretical approaches and methodologies
3. Acquire insight into various arts disciplines
4. Develop cognitive competency for further studies in chosen area
Intellectual and practical skills
1. Demonstrate intellectual capacity to critically think and analyse
2. Acquire capacity to think creatively for assessing information from diverse sources
3. Acquire communication and collaborative skills for teamwork
4. Develop research oriented thinking process to explore independently
Social responsibility
