MDKG Alumni Association: Growth and Development
Initiating steps for the formation of the alumni association was taken up in the year 2002.  The association was born with Dr. Sandhya Devi as the Working President and Dr. Sewali Barbara as Secretary with 15 alumnae members. And a cultural programme was held for the purpose. Then in the year 2004,  the association was reconstituted with Dr. Manjula Duwara as Working President and Dr. Sewali Barbara as Secretary who extended their support and services during the NAAC visit in 2004.Since then this association has been contributing towards the benefit of the students and society through different activities and programmes.

                                                                                                Our Celebrations
Alumni meet :

Ø After the formation of the association, it has organised some celebrations within the college campus to become active and attached with our alumni. On 9th December of 2006, association organised a Guardian cum Alumni Meet to interact with our past pupils. A colourful cultural programme was also performed by our students.

Ø Again in,the association organised an Alumni Meet on 22nd May, 2010 with a colourful ceremony A cultural procession was brought out  on .the occasion.

Ø An alumni meet was organised on 27th November 2010,  to get feedback and suggestions from our alumnae. On that day a journal of Alumni association named ‘ABHIGYAN’ was released by college first alumni Mrs. Aijoni Baruah.

Ø The 3rd  Alumuni Meet was held on  October 21st , 2013  on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of MDKG College at college auditorium.  A cultural programme with colourful  dances, songs and drama was also organised along with interaction of the alumnae. The second issue of  ‘ABHIGYAN’ released the same day. The souvenir was released by Dr Sandhya Devi, an alumni and former Vice-Pricnipal of the college.

                                                          
Association’s Contribution to the College and Community

Ø Two  steel almirahs, a xerox machine towards the college library for the benefit of the students in 2004-05.

Ø The association donated a first aid box to the students common room in 2011.

Ø The Association donated  22 litre two Hawkins Pressure Cooker and two numbers of water filter (sopnsored by Dr. Moutushi Bagchi and Smt Dipali Das) to Kamala Devi Beriya Girls’ Hostel ( College Hostel), Graham Bazar on 25th Jan. 2015 in presence of hostel warden and students/hostel boarder. 

Ø The association also shows social responsibility  towards the society through conducting extension services for a Children Home  named ‘SMILE’ situated at Jibon Phukan Nagar, Dibrugarh. Association spent a day with them and interacted with them and also donated some necessary items like- books, exercise copies, pencil, eraser, crayons slates, pen, paper, play items like football, Ludo etc. All the items were handed to the secretary of the ‘SMILE’.

Ø A talk cum interactive programme was held 27th March on ‘legal rights on women’ in presence of faculty members, non-teaching staff and students of the college. A renowned advocate and Notary of Dibrugarh Court Juli Das was invited as a Resource Person.

Ø Miss J. Borgohain an alumni as a part of tree plantation mission, planted trees at the college campus on 7th May 2016

Ø A talk cum motivational programme was organised by the association on ‘ Entrepreneurship Today Among Aspiring Young Girls’ on 28th september 2016 at college auditorium. Ms. Joba Borgohain, Serial Entrepreneur, Flavour Nomads, was invited as resource person. Her deliberations greatly inspired our young students.

Ø With the purpose of disseminating knowledge on various legal rights of women, the alumni association again organised a programme. Assistant Professor, Dr. Deepom Baruah of Centre for Juridical Studies of Dibrugarh University was the speaker of the programme. He spoke about the different aspects of women rights related to property, dowry prohibition, women trafficking, maternity benefit rights and rights related to health and reproduction.

Ø An extension activity on the topic ‘The Need and importance of studying Science, Mathematics and History in the present times’ was conducted at Graham Bazar Girls High School, Dibrugah specially for the girl students on 29th April 2016, as there seems to be a phobia and reluctance to study these subjects nowadays which has been also revealed by research studies too. The talk was deliberated by Dr. Juli Konwar on importance of Mathematics and by Smt. Bobita bora on importance of History. Both the resource persons were faculty of our Mdkg college. The programme was initiated by Moushumi Bordoloi, Dipanwita
Bora and Rupali Mazumdar.

                                                                                         
Awards and honours

Best Athlete awards:

Ø The association also provides cash award to the best sportsperson on the basis of her excellence in college annual sports week every year. The award consists of  Rs 2000/- The first award was given to Ms. Nabanita Patowary for excelling in sports in september 2010. This award was declared as best athlete award.

Ø Miss Nabanita Patowary was awarded this best athlete award again for another two consecutive years ie. 2011-2012 session and 2013-2014 session for her excellence perfomance.

Ø For the session 2014-2015, this  cash award was given to Miss Asha Toppo for excelling in annual sports week of the college. For the 2015-2016 session , this cash award was given to Miss Nitumoni Gogoi for excelling as an athelete. 

                                                                       
Phonidhar Majumdar  Memorial award in Borgeet

The alumni association decided to provide another cash award of Rs. 2000/- in the memory of Phonidhar Mazumdar to the best borgeet singer of the college from 2016 onwards.  This award was sponsored by Dr. Rupali Mazumdar, asstt. Prof. in philosophy. The 1st Phonidhar Mazumdar Memorial Award in borgeet under the aegis of mdkg alumni association awarded to Ms. Pooja Das Bora of 6th semester who got first prize in borgeet in college annual week programme.

                                                                                      
How we communicate to Alumni

Under the aegis of IQAC of mdkg college, a facebook account is being  open to communicate with our alumnae.  The name of our page is  MDKG past and Present where we upload all our information, messages, photos and invitations. Through this Face Book Account we get connected with our past pupil. Our past students also give their ideas and suggession for the better development of the association.
