• Unit 1:  To acquaint the students about the geo-physical features,    demographic structure- racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic and cultural diversities, and classify the types of societies into tribal, rural, urban and Industrial.
• Unit 2: To interpret and analyse social institution from sociological perspectives(marriage),its relation to social legislations in India, marriage systems of the Hindus, Muslims ,Christians .Family interpretations from different perspectives,  its changing trends& problems, classify Kinship and have an appropriate knowledge of it.
